Boston
Aforementioned Revere Sugar Refinery is quite close to the Bunker Hill Memorial. Now you know where the refinery gets its name! You have followed in my footsteps down the Freedom Trail and many of your pics look familiar, but the Boston skyline, as seen from Cambridge, has changed a lot since I was there. Are there still swan boats on the lake in the park?

'Girls with Crabs'
Dan, in the last photo - is the sunlight refelcting from the lobster and then on to your face? or is your beard really Ginger?
I think you have been in the US too long, a whole lobster in the UK will be around $100.
Pics are great, can't wait to see more of the lovely scenery. You really better get some sleep before Boston & NYC!!
Take care xx

Face fungus
Iss Pinchey" photo the facial hirsute appendage is beginning to look more like a respectable beard rather than simply indicating the loss of a razor!
Give my love to Boston - had lots of work visits to Revere Sugar Refinery,333 Medford Street. Wonder if it's still there.
The American Sugars refinery next door had a raw sugar store generally known as the Boston Sto(U)mp.
Do you remember the incident when a sick bag was deposited on the Mystic River bridge!?

Lobsters
I really wanted to say something positive about the lovely scenery in Maine but I'm afraid that I'm now too traumatised by the poor lobster!
I'm glad you're having a great time..keep safe.

Conker trees
Did you know that John Tradescant brought horse chestnut trees from USA to Europe. He was gardener to Elizabeth 1, at Hatfield House, and the tradescantia plant is named after him.
I'm glad you enjoyed Niagra Falls. It is on my 'Must See' list. I like your description of your guide. She must have been a lady Ayatolla.

Re: Ford
DC:

Yes, Detroit is our monument to stupidity (letting unions gain too much control and letting one industry dominate a region). You'll see a lot of other monuments in Washington we paid for, too. Only these will be worth visiting. We'll just remember the ones in Michigan, and hope one day all the MI'ers that live here in Atl will be incentivized to move back there. Sort of reminds you of Mexico, sort of. I had a chance to move to Erie, PA years ago. In retrospect maybe I should have; I noticed you didn't mention it; it's the Detroit of PA (heh heh).

Have fun at the Falls, don't sleep in any heart-shaped beds with mirrors overhead!

Happy Fourth!

Columbus
Wish we'd known you were going Columbus as we have 2 friends from there whom we met in Andros. In fact they stayed in our villa for a while when theirs was being built.Reading your blog and seeing the pics is one of the highlights of our day.

IMOM
Austin Powers, eat your heart out. My Dan is a far superior IMOM.All you need to do is transplant the beard to your chest.
What's with the snake? Was it a pet one?
Your visits are becoming very cultural with all the museums you are going to.
I'm intrigued by why the wealthy gentleman took in couch surfers. Do he used to travel that way?
Take care Dan.
