Dallas |
Doo de do deodododo I too can hear the Dallas theme tune in my head. I so loved that soap because it was so different to our lifestyle. When you come home we will have to get some Dallas DVDs ,as there are no re-runs that I know of, and laugh as we watch. Good decision to stay in a motel and have a shower. Sleep well. Love Mum x x x |

CowBoy Dan!! |
I so want to go to Dallas now! I just want to see South Fork and buy some cool cowgirl boots that I can wear at home whilst watching the daily re-runs of Dallas on the SoapNet channel, haha ![]() Good to see you are having fun and not joing a cult! Stay safe and post some more pics of you wearing your Cowboy hat. Will you wear that in the UK? |

Re: Freedom of Religion |
Don't get me started, DC! I seem to recall that an entire country of heretics seemed to have given the finger to the Pope at one time in the distant past (oh right, that was the....uhhhhh.... Church of England....Oh yeah!!!! 1534!!!) So then the precendent was set, and we've been welcoming religious nutjobs ever since, since 1620 or so. Sure, we get the occasional David Koresh or our latest, Warren Jeffs. I'd still say it's worth it, even with rogue pastors trying to be politicians here lately. Your scenery will improve greatly once you get out of Texas, the Southwest is an area not to be missed. My favorite state is New Mexico, followed by southern Utah. PS: Put Yale University on your list of schools to visit, George W graduated from there, with better grades than John Kerry. Go figure. We all just figured he was trying to dumb himself down in others' eyes, look where it got him in the long haul! http://www.boston.com/news/nation/washington/articles/2005/ 06/07/yale_grades_portray_kerry_as_a_lackluster_student/ |

Daniel, I love reading these blogs...wish I could be enjoying some adventures as well instead of being here at work! But still I get to live vicariously through you! I love Tino's comment about the cult! That was too funny...I have the whole scene worked out in my head...but I do agree Mob Wars is addicting, so be careful not to get yourself into those kinds of situations! I loved the chicken on a stick pic! As you drive through Texas if you stop in Midland or Odessa say hello to my birthplace (feel sorry for me b/c I lived there til I was 9!(Don't stay long) It sucks out there. Though you could see a museum about President Retard or about the fascinating oil business! Miss you! Hailey |

Hummm |
Dan... It was the ATF that Raided the Davidians, not the AFT, and they didn't have a small arsenal, they had a HUGE arsenal, the reason the ATF was there in the first place... I'm glad that you didn't go in, those "Cults" have a way of convincing, Skinny-Blond-Balding-Funny Speaking foreigners into joining their ranks... The Last thing Stason & I need now is to have to dress up like Rambo to go out to TX and get you out of a cult!!! We're way to busy playing Mob Wars... Happy Travels Bud!!! T |

Re: Austin |
Dan: You only did two out of the three things that would have been pleasant in Austin (music scene, bats, kicking Michael Dell in the shins for me*), but I'm happy to see that you've changed direction for tomorrow so you can see an even LARGER mega-lopolis that is Dallas. Their beltway makes Atlanta look lame (in size AND the habits of the probably unlicensed drivers)! If there ever was a poster-child for the 2d Amendment, this town would be it! * I think Dell recently closed their flagship desktop factory in Austin after several years of declining profitability, laying off 8,000. http://www.news.com/8301-10784_3-9906938-7.aspx |
