Annoying farecard process, Washington, DC
The annoying way one buys a ticket for the DC metro. Instead of selecting one's destination on the screen and buying a ticket, or buying a flat-fare, or buying a zoned ticket, one must look-up the station's price in a paper list. One must then use the up-down knobs to adjust the fare to the right price. It starts at $20.00, and I had to dial the dollars down to 1 and then the cents down to 65 before buying. Daft.
